"I observe my own body as a source for imagery. Using parts of my own body furthers the significance of my psychological and physical connection to my work. Some textures and colors within certain paintings are inspired by my own skin, hair, teeth and gums. In several prints, my palm has made underlying textures and shapes. Through physicality, my work also offers an exploration into the spirituality of human existence and serves as a metaphor for change, evolution, and transitions that characterize human relationships and responses."
