One North Square Crosstown Gallery and Studios, under construction in October 1999

Crosstown. The Materials of the Time.

The project is shown here as it is developing, demonstrating the fusion of the historical appearance of the storefront and the modern visions of its new design.

From historical evidence, we observed that the storefront was resplendent in its use of wooden frames and generous glasswork.

The wood used for the refurbishment of the original window and transom configuration is the finest hard red oak, high visibility glazing and Copper flashing, the original building materials and language of the turn of the century architecture.
